Lovina was born about 1802 in Floyd County, Indiana.  Lovina's father was Joseph Akers and her mother was Anna Anderson.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Akers and Mary Smith. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Abraham, James, Jehu, Thomas J., Christina, Jemima, Mary Polly and Sarah.  She died on August 14th, 1845 in Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, Indiana or Utica, La Salle County, Illinois.  She was buried in Oakhill Cemetery, Utica, Illinois.


Lovina's family with Samuel Brown

‌Lovina and Samuel were married in a religious ceremony on May 10th, 1821 in Pastor Thomas Akers.1   They had six sons and seven daughters, named William Martin, John, Alfred, Anna, Achsa, Albert, Sarah, Mary, Nancy, Lovina, Louisa, Martha Lovina and Prudence.
