Her paternal grandparents were Iorwerth Drwyndwn ap Owain Gwynedd and Marared verch Madoc of Powys; her maternal grandparents were Llywarch Goch ap Iorwerth and Tanglwyst verch Llywarch. She had a brother and two sisters, named Gruffydd ap Llywelyn, Marared Drwyndon verch Llywelyn and Gwenllian verch Llywelyn. She had eight half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Dafydd II ap Llywelyn, Tegwared-y-Bais Wen ap Llywelyn, Howel ap Ednyfed, Iowerth ap Ednyfed, Kendrig ap Ednyfed, Llewelyn ap Ednyfed, Rhys ap Ednyfed, Tudor ap Ednyfed Fychan of, Elen (Helena) verch Llywelyn, Angharad verch Llywelyn, Margaret verch Llywelyn, Helen (Elen) verch Llywelyn of North, Angharad verch Ednyfed and Gwenllian verch Ednyfed Fychan of.
