Joseph Anderson Butcher 
Joseph Anderson was born on December 19th, 1806 in Harrison County, Virginia. Joseph Anderson's father was John Anderson Butcher and his mother was Christina Alkire. His paternal grandparents were Balthasar Butcher and Elizabeth Bush; his maternal grandparents were John Alkire and Christina McCann. He had ten brothers and four sisters, named Gasper, Jesse, Paulser, Lemuel D., Emmanuel, Granville A., Thomas P., John R., James Newton, Michael Ervin, Nancy Ann, Sarah, Elizabeth and Margaret Ann. He was the second oldest of the fifteen children. He died at the age of 40 in 1846 in Harrison County, Virginia.-
