James Newton Butcher

James Newton was born in January 1837. James Newton's father was John Anderson Butcher and his mother was Christina Alkire. His paternal grandparents were Balthasar Butcher and Elizabeth Bush; his maternal grandparents were John Alkire and Christina McCann. He had ten brothers and four sisters, named Gasper, Joseph Anderson, Jesse, Paulser, Lemuel D., Emmanuel, Granville A., Thomas P., John R., Michael Ervin, Nancy Ann, Sarah, Elizabeth and Margaret Ann. He is the second youngest of the fifteen children.
