Pierre was born about 1125 in Reims, France.  Pierre's father was Louis VI King of France and his mother was Adelaide of Savoy.  His paternal grandparents were Phillipe I King of France and Bertha Countess Of Holland; his maternal grandparents were Humbert II Count De Savoie and Gisela De Bourgogne. He had six brothers and a sister, named Phillipe, Henri, Louis VII, Hugues, Robert, Phillipe Arch-Dean and Constance.  He was the second youngest of the eight children.  He died in April 1183 in Palestine, Israel.

‌Pierre and Isabelle were married in a religious ceremony in 1150.  They had a son named Pierre.

‌Pierre and Isabelle were married in a religious ceremony before 1160 in France.  They had three sons and six daughters, named Pierre II, Robert, Guillaume, Alix, Unknown Daughter, Eustachia, Clementia, Constance and Isabelle.
