Lovina was born on February 4th, 1896 in Springdale, Washington Co., Utah. Lovina's father was Alpheus Gifford and her mother is Ursula Ett Winder. Her paternal grandfather was Samuel Kendall Gifford and her paternal grandmother is Lora Ann Demille. She had a brother and four sisters, named Henry, Alpha, Mahala, Ruth and Sarilla. She was the third oldest of the six children. She had six half-brothers and six half-sisters, and also a half-sibling of unknown gender, named Riley Kendall, Samuel, Oliver, Orson, Nathan Alpheus, Cyrus, Bertha, Ingri, Hannah Jane, Harriet, Irene, Elsie and Unknown. She died at the age of 66 on May 7th, 1962 in Laverkin, Washington Co., Utah.-
