Sarah Ann Gatten 
Sarah Ann was born on March 7th, 1843 in West Liberty, Muscatine Co., Iowa. Sarah Ann's father was Galentine Gatten and her mother is Sarah A. Hendrickson. Her paternal grandparents were William Benjamin Gatten and Sarah Murphy. She had four brothers and two sisters, named William, Samuel, Isaac, James, Margaret and Lavina. She is the second youngest of the seven children.-
