Samuel Gatten 
Samuel was born in 1816 in Ohio. Samuel's father was Thomas Gatten and his mother was Eleanor Meeks. His paternal grandparents were William Benjamin Gatten and Sarah Murphy. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Richard Ellis, James Ralston, Thomas Gatten, Precious Ann, Elizabeth, Eleanor, Mary, Sarah Jane and Nancy. He was the third oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 69 on June 2nd, 1885 in Monroe Co., Ohio.-
