Bevis Benet was born on July 21st, 1248. Bevis Benet's father was Richard De Clare and his mother was Maud de Lacy. His paternal grandparents were Gilbert de Clare and Isabella (Marshall) Mareschal; his maternal grandparents were John de Lacy and Margaret de Quincey. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Lord Gilbert, Thomas, Robert, Isabel, Margaret, Rohesia Agnes, Maud, Eglantine and Eleanor. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.-
