Robert was born about 1127 in Long Buckley, Northants, England.  Robert's father was Saher I De Quincey and his mother was Maud De Saint Liz.  His maternal grandparents were Simon de St. Liz and Matilda Maud De Huntington. He had two brothers and a sister, named Saher II, Roger and Lorette.  He was the second youngest of the four children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Walter Fitzrobert and Maud Fitz.  He died in Manor of Bushley, Northamptonshire, England.
