Samuel Kyle was born in 1838. Samuel Kyle's father was Charles McClung and his mother was Nancy Black McClung. His paternal grandparents were Joseph McClung and Elizabeth Hyde; his maternal grandparents were Alexander McClung and Jane McClung. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Cyrus Hyde, Alpheus Paris, William Frank, Rebecca, Mary Elizabeth, Lucy and Ellen. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.-
