Floyd Washington Jake Deckard 
Floyd Washington Jake was born on May 19th, 1896 in Chapel Hill, Monroe Co., Indiana. Floyd Washington Jake's father was George Washington Deckard and his mother was Martha Mize. His paternal grandparents were John Wesley Deckard and Malissa Eads. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Clarence Jackie, Lawrence Brigham, Leonard Buck, General Sanford, Hobert "Hobie", Ollie, Sarah, Rosetta and Eva Jane. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 82 on July 4th, 1978 in Bloomington, Monroe Co., Indiana. He was buried on July 7th, 1978 in Allens Creek Cemetery.General Notes

Floyd W. Deckard
Floyd W. Deckard, 82, died at the Bloomington Nursing Home Saturday at
2:30 p.m. He was a former resident of R. 14, Bedford. He had been ill
several years. Born 5 19, 1896, in Monroe County, he was the son of
george and Martha Mize Deckard. He was a farmer and married Ruth Deckard
May 12, 1932. She survives.
Survivors also include one son, Kenneth Deckard, Smithville: Two
daughters- Mrs. Otis (Vernice) Ritter of R.14, Bedford, and Mrs. Melvin
(Mildren) Eads of Bloomington: seven grandchildren: one great-grandchild:
and tow brothers- Sinford Deckard of Bloomington and Lawrence Deckard of
Bedford. Three sisters and four brothers preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Pentecost Church. Final rites will be Wednesday
at 1:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home, Heltonville, with burial in Allen's
Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call at any time at Jones Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Oatis Ritter, Melvin Eads, Floyd Deckard, Stephen
Ritter, Phillip Ritter and Timothy Ritter.
