Martha Emeline was born in April 1845 in ,Boone,Virginia.1 Martha Emeline's father was John R BARKER and her mother was Diana ELLIS. Her paternal grandparents were Isaac BARKER and Spicy SCOTT; her maternal grandparents were John ELLIS and Eleanor EAGEN. She had six brothers and six sisters, named Joseph Ellis, Amos, Daniel Franklin, Charles William, John Thomas, Isaac Lee, Minerva, Mary Ellen, Sarah Lewis, Amanda Elizabeth, Virginia Gertrude and Louvenia Newman. She was the fourth oldest of the thirteen children. She was buried on July 11th, 1916 in Spring Hill Cemetery,Charleston.General Notes
