Mary L was born on October 6th, 1859 in Linn County, Iowa.1 Mary L's father was John Milton Coffland and her mother was Malinda Elma Varner. Her paternal grandparents were Lancelot Coffland and Eliza Beckett; her maternal grandparents were John "Johnny" Varner Jr and Irena Emma Andrews. She had five brothers and a sister, named Lancelot Columbus, Ross W, Charles Sylvester, John Nelson, Ancil and Fedela. She had a half-sister named Julia B. She died at the age of 89 on April 23rd, 1949 in Lewiston, Nez Perce County, Idaho.1 -
