Ancil Coffland 
Ancil was born in August 1875 in Marysville, Marion County, Iowa.1 Ancil's father was John Milton Coffland and his mother was Malinda Elma Varner. His paternal grandparents were Lancelot Coffland and Eliza Beckett; his maternal grandparents were John "Johnny" Varner Jr and Irena Emma Andrews. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Lancelot Columbus, Ross W, Charles Sylvester, John Nelson, Mary L and Fedela. He had a half-sister named Julia B. He died at the age of 56 in 1931 in Colfax, Whitman County, Washington.1 -
