Harriet was born on April 6th, 1814 and her baptism took place on April 13th, 1814 in Weld Chapel Southgate London.1  Harriet's father was John Henry Powell Schneider and her mother was Ann Catharine Penelope.  Her paternal grandparents were John Henry Schneider and Anna Catharina Congreve. She had two brothers and two sisters, named George, George, Anna and Charlotte.  She was the youngest of the five children. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Henry, George, Robert and Elizabeth.
