George was born on June 10th, 1803 and his baptism took place on July 6th, 1803 in Saint Luke Old Street, Finsbury, London.1  George's father was John Henry Powell Schneider and his mother was Ann Catharine Penelope.  His paternal grandparents were John Henry Schneider and Anna Catharina Congreve. He had a brother and three sisters, named George, Anna, Charlotte and Harriet.  He was the second oldest of the five children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Henry, George, Robert and Elizabeth.
