Lizzie Ellen was born on January 15th, 1858 in Ballarat. Lizzie Ellen's father was Joseph CURTHOYS and her mother was Eliza LANCASTER.  Her paternal grandfather is James CURTHOYS and her paternal grandmother was Elizabeth CURTHOYS; her maternal grandparents are Joseph LANCASTER and Ann Eliza COXHEAD. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Joseph Henry, Edwin William, Alfred George, unnamed twin, Matilda Emily, Ada Ellen, Alice Maude and Lizzie Edith.  She was the second oldest of the nine children.  She died at just 13 days old on January 28th, 1858.
