Ada Ellen was born on February 11th, 1865 in Daylsford, Vic.. Ada Ellen's father was Joseph CURTHOYS and her mother was Eliza LANCASTER.  Her paternal grandfather is James CURTHOYS and her paternal grandmother was Elizabeth CURTHOYS; her maternal grandparents are Joseph LANCASTER and Ann Eliza COXHEAD. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Joseph Henry, Edwin William, Alfred George, unnamed twin, Lizzie Ellen, Matilda Emily, Alice Maude and Lizzie Edith.  She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  She died at just 11 days old on February 22nd, 1865.
