Alfred George was born on July 8th, 1866 in Ballarat. Alfred George's father was Joseph CURTHOYS and his mother was Eliza LANCASTER.  His paternal grandfather is James CURTHOYS and his paternal grandmother was Elizabeth CURTHOYS; his maternal grandparents are Joseph LANCASTER and Ann Eliza COXHEAD. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Joseph Henry, Edwin William, unnamed twin, Lizzie Ellen, Matilda Emily, Ada Ellen, Alice Maude and Lizzie Edith.  He was the fourth youngest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 73 on August 14th, 1939 in West Perth.
