John Barrow died three years after the marriage in 1845.

By 1851, Happy had lost her first husband and was living with her daughter Maria and parents, Samuel and Alice.  1851 census has her as Married, not Widowed, but she probably was.

Happy's father Samuel died in 1854. It appears that Happy of Rose Hill,.was in attendance at her fathers death (but it looks like Harry Shuttleworth on the certificate).

By 1861 Happy's father Samuel has died.  Happy has remarried Phineas Shuttleworth, and is now living at 167 Lever Street, Little Bolton, still with her daughter Maria and mother Alice Mather.

Family living at Coal Pit Lane, St Helens, Lancashire, England in 1871

James and Hannah moved to Irvine, Scotland between 1881 and 1891.  Their three youngest children John, Sarah Ann and George moved with them.
1830 Mary Barrow 1833 Nancy Barrow 1837 Salina (Celine) Barrow Salina (on 1851 census) or Celine (on 1841 index) 1838 George Barrow 1851 Edwin Barrow The family were in Bradford in 1861 and 1871.  What happened to George, Ann and Edwin after that?  Edwin may have married in Gloucester in 1875. 1834 - 1906 Hannah (Annie) Roydes 72 72 Called Hannah in 1871, but Annie in 1881.  Dont you just love these women who change their names! 1863 Elizabeth E Barrow 1865 - 1930 Levi Barrow 65 65 1868 James Barrow 1870 Sarah Ann Barrow 1876 George Barrow 1908 - 1909 John Greenhalgh Shuttleworth 6m 6m John G Shuttleworth (an infant) was 6 months when he died.  He was the 4th to be buried in the grave of 6, 7 years after his great grandparents Happy and Phineas Shuttleworth were buried. 1875 - 1876 Alice Shuttleworth 1m 1m 1892 - 1954 John Wilkinson 61 61 1920 - 1957 Joyce Wilkinson 36 36 1922 - 1999 Lois Wilkinson 77 77 1924 - 1988 Reginald Wilkinson 64 64 Ian W Waterson 1952 - 2007 Gordon Peter Waterson 55 55 Lois M Waterson 1847 - 1879 Miles Pollitt 31 31 1849 - 1911 Mary Ann Pollitt 61 61 1804 Ann Wife Anne in 1851 replaces Nancy, who was present in 1841.  The gap in the births of the children suggests they married about 1842-46, but only Marriage near Bolton St. Helens or Wigan is for Mary Rogers, which seems a little early, but possible.

Ann on 1851 and 1861 census, Anne 1871.

There's an Anne Barrow living with Son-in-law Joseph and Daughter Sarah Ann Flocton in Hulme, Lancashire in 1881.  If this is right, then Ann must have had this daughter from an earlier marriage.
1869 - 1946 John Barrow 77 77 1823 - 1876 John Bond 53 53 In 1851, John, 28 and head of house was a hair dresser at Bridgman Street, East Bolton

In 1861 he is 38 and recorded as a barber.

In 1871 John is still a Hair Dresser
1832 - 1883 Ellen Weatherall 50 50 Ellen never knew her father, who died the year she was born.  Her mother didnt remarry till she was 5, so its likely Ellen and  Phinneas Shuttleworth (her brother) were brought up by a single mother.

From the 1881 census we see than John Bond had died between 1873-1881, and Ellen had remarried Thomas Strickland. She had her three children with her.
1868 Ann Bond 1863 Bridget Bond 1873 - 1951 John Patrick Bond 78 78 Johns mother Elled died when john was 10, so he was brought up by his step-father Thomas Strickland. 1833 Thomas Strickland 1865 - 1865 Happy Bond Happy Bond is an indirect decendant of Happy Mather (nee Lomax). She was named after her aunt Happy Barrow, wife of Phineas Shuttleworth, her mother Ellen's half-brother.

Mothers maiden name is Weatherall.  She had two sisters Bridget (b.1863) and Ann (b.1868), and a brother John Patrick, all born in East Bolton.
1841 - 1924 Thomas Manuell 83 83 Thomas left £1,539 to his dauter Grace when he died in 1924. 1844 Eliza Whitaker 1861 Grace Manuell 1864 John William Taylor 1797 George Barrow Possible BARROW children include Jonathan, James and Elizabeth, all whom married at Ainsworth Christchurch 1840-42 (same as son John and Happy Mather).

From 1822 George was a Little Bolton, a weaver and chemist (vitriol maker) when the children were baptised, but was at Great Leaver in 1827 and 1829 when Richard and Eliza were baptised (and a labourer).  From 1834 to 1845 George is in Little Bolton again a Chemist and Vitriol Maker, and at St Helens in 1857.

In 1841, George (40) was a Chemist at Latham Place, Little Bolton with wife Nancy (37), John (19) and Mary (11).  The folling census page seems to suggest another 9 children aged 18 years down to 9 months) but they seem out of order so may not be the BARROW family.

1803 Nancy Greenhalgh 1896 - 1958 Wilfred Bailey 62 62 1932 - 2004 Colin Bailey 72 72 1934 - 1985 Grenville Bailey 51 51 1934, Grenville Bailey married Barbara Stansfield 1821 - 1902 Robert Holt 81 81 Robert married Alice Grimshaw and had a son Jonathan Holt, grandfather of Nancy Collins with whom I have a DNA match.  However this cannnot be the source of the common DNA (no no DNA matches to Holt from IOW) 1825 Edmund Holt Edmund married Sarah Longbottom from Rochdale in 1845 (TBC).  There appear to be no marriages in Bolton or Bury. 1823 Margaret Barrow There are comments (posted 7 Oct 2013) on my Ancestry tree about Margaret Barow and unmarried partner Daniel Marsh. They lived in a cellar at Bath St. Bolton in 1851 and moved to Manchertsr by 1861.

Margaret's child Sarah E married under the name of Sarah Helena Barrow to Thomas Halstead at St Johns, Little Bolton.
1825 Betty Barrow 1827 Richard Barrow 1829 Elizabeth (Eliza) Barrow 1834 Nancy Barrow 1840 Thomas Barrow Thomas probably married Ellen and bacame a Stone Mason (see 1881 census) 1845 Harriet Barrow 1847 Ellen Barrow 1809 - 1848 Ellen Shuttleworth 39 39 1808 - 1832 William Wetherall 24 24 Robert Woods 1863 - 1864 William Collins 6m 6m 1844 - 1879 William Collings (Taylor) 35 35 William was born before his parents married.  His 1844 birth was registered as TAYLOR, not COLLINS.

In 1861, William (16) was with parents and family at 18 Garside Street, West Bolton

In 1862, another William Collings married Esther Talbot.

In 1863 William married Maria Barrow and they had a Son William than died and then a son Jesse in 1864, before his wife Maria died in 1866.  William then returned to his parents, leving Jesse to be brought up by her grandparents.
NOTE: There may be two different Williams!

In 1871, William (26), unmarried, a carter, was still with his parents.  William had left home and married by 1881.
