George was born in June 1852 in Preston and his baptism took place there on June 27th, 1852.1 2  George's father was Robert Buchan (Richardson) and his mother was Catherine Harrison. He had four brothers and a sister, named Charles, William, Jasper, Edward and Margaret.  He was the second oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 67 on January 10th, 1920 in Great Lever.  He was buried in Halliwell.3

‌George and Mary were married in a religious ceremony on May 19th, 1877 at the St. Matthew (Little Lever) witnessed by William Smith & Rebecca Ann Smith.4  They had two biological sons named George and George.  They also had an adopted daughter named Mary.  There are no more children.
