Robert was born in March 1894 in Bolton.1  Robert's father was William Richardson and his mother was Elizabeth Caughlin.  His paternal grandparents were Robert Buchan (Richardson) and Catherine Harrison. He had four brothers and a sister, named William, Thomas, George, Harold and Robert.  He was the third youngest of the six children.  He died at 6 months old in September 1894 in Bolton.1
