Charles was born in September 1879 in Bolton.1  Charles' father was Charles Harrison Richardson and his mother was Mary Ann Johnson.  His paternal grandparents were Robert Buchan (Richardson) and Catherine Harrison. He had a brother and a sister, named Charles and Florence.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 1 in September 1880 in Bolton.1
