Sarah Whittaker

Sarah was born in 1825 in Hulme (near Manchester) and her baptism took place on January 1st, 1826 at Manchester Cathedral.¹²

Sarah's father was William Whitaker and her mother was Sarah Mather. Her maternal grandparents were Samuel Mather and Ellen Boardman. She had three brothers and four sisters, named William, James, Mary, Elizabeth, Martha, Ellen and Emma. She was the second oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 51 in June 1876 in Chorlton (Lancs).³
