Ethel was born on April 8th, 1890 in Halliwell and her baptism took place on June 11th, 1890 at St. Matthew (Halliwell).¹

Birth Notes

Ethel's father was Thomas Whittaker and her mother was Sarah Ann Mather. Her maternal grandparents were Henry Mather and Maria Duckworth (Thompson). She had two sisters named Emily and Annie. She was the oldest of the three children. She died at the age of 87 in 1977.
