3 April 1863, Henry Mather of Little Bolton, son of James Mather (both spinners) married Maria Duckworth, spinster of Little Bolton, daughter of Oliver "Duckworth" a labourer.
In 1861, Maria (19) was with her father Oliver "Thompson" (66) at 37 Cooper's Square, Little Bolton.
Between 1863 and 1885 Henry (and Maria) had at least 7 children. Half the children have DUCKWORTH as the mother's maiden name, and the others THOMPSON. It appears Maria's father Oliver was illegitimate, and was using his two names.
In 1911, Maria (69, Wid), was boarding with her daughter Sarah Ann Whittaker and her family at 47 Bashall Street, Bolton
Maria died in 1911. Henry and Maria Mather and three children Lottie, Ernest Joseph and Thompson James are all buried in the same grave at St. Peter's Halliwell
