Robert's father was Thomas Vickers and his mother was Mary Mather.  His maternal grandparents were Holt Mather and Alice Vickers. He had two brothers and two sisters, named John, Ellis, Mary and Alice.  He was the second youngest of the five children.  He died at the age of 2 in November 1864 in Hindley.  He was buried on November 18th, 1864 in Hindley.^2 1
