John was born in 1800 in Wybunbury and his baptism took place there on March 9th, 1800.1   John's father was Thomas Timmis and his mother was Martha Woodcock.  His paternal grandparents were John Timmis and Mary Walley. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, William, Job, George, Elizabeth, Martha, Ellen and Sarah.  He was the oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 66 in 1866.
