Rachel Taylor

Rachel was born in 1818 in Whitefield and her baptism took place on August 9th, 1818 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Prestwich).¹²

Rachel's father was James Taylor and her mother was Rachel Madther. Her maternal grandparents were Robert Madther and Rachel Ogden. She had five brothers and a sister, named William, John, Peter, Thomas, William and Sarah. She was the sixth oldest of the seven children.

General Notes
- In 1825 another Rachel Taylor, daughter of James and Mary was born.
  
  In 1841, Thomas and Rachel Taylor (33 & 23) were at Whitfield with an extended Taylor and Mather family.
  
  Rachel married a Butterworth.
  
  31 Dec 1852, Rachel Butterworth, winder and widow, daughter of James Taylor a weaver, married John Hill, both of Whitefield.
