William Taylor (Mather)

William was born in 1796 in Whitefield and his baptism took place on July 3rd, 1796 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Prestwich).¹

William's father was James Taylor and his mother was Rachel Madther.  His maternal grandparents were Robert Madther and Rachel Ogden. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Peter, Thomas, William, Rachel and Sarah.  He was the oldest of the seven children.
