Sarah was born in 1822 in Farnworth and her baptism took place on May 19th, 1822 at St. Saviour (Ringley).1  Sarah's father was Simon Stones and her mother was Mary Hardman.  Her paternal grandparents were Daniel Stones and Ann Mather. She had a brother and five sisters, named William, Ann, Betty, Mary, Alice and Elizabeth.  She was the sixth oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 2 in March 1824 in Farnworth.  Her burial was on March 9th, 1824 at St. Mary (Deane).2
