Ann was born in 1807 in Farnworth and her baptism took place on November 15th, 1807 at St. Saviour (Ringley).1  Ann's father was Simon Stones and her mother was Mary Hardman.  Her paternal grandparents were Daniel Stones and Ann Mather. She had a brother and five sisters, named William, Betty, Mary, Alice, Sarah and Elizabeth.  She was the oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 57 in 1864.
