Simon Stones

Simon was born in 1779 in Farnworth and his baptism took place on June 6th, 1779 at St. Mary (Deane).¹

Simon's father was Daniel Stones and his mother was Ann Mather.  His maternal grandparents were John Mather and <unknown>. He had two brothers and three sisters, named James, William, Alice, Sarah and Ann.  He was the third oldest of the six known children.  He died at the age of 68 in June 1847 in Kearsley.  He was buried on June 21st, 1847 at St. Mary (Deane).²

‌Simon and Mary were married in a religious ceremony on January 4th, 1803 at St. Mary (Deane) by Vicar Richard Latham.⁴   They had a son and six daughters, named William, Ann, Betty, Mary, Alice, Sarah and Elizabeth.  There are no more children.
