Emily was born in December 1881 in Almondbury.¹

Birth Notes

Emily's father was Charles Henry Stocks and her mother was Frances (Fanny) Ann Perry. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Stocks and Hannah Batty. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Frank, Florence, Ethel, Rhoda, Elsie and Dorothy. She was the third oldest of the eight children.
