Sarah was born in 1828 in Sowerby.¹

Birth Notes

Sarah's father was John Shaw and her mother was Amelia (Molly) Stocks. Her maternal grandparents were Samuel Stocks and Sally (Sarah) Brook. She had two brothers and four sisters, named George, Joseph, Ann, Ruth, Ellen and Martha. She was the second youngest of the seven children.
