Elizabeth's father was Edward Millington and her mother was Hannah (Ann) Dunn. Her paternal grandparents were John Millington and Ann Shaw. She had a brother and four sisters, named John, Mary, Ann, Jane and Rachel. She was the second youngest of the six children. She had a half-brother named Edward.
