Edward's father was Edward Millington and his mother was Elizabeth Williams.  His paternal grandparents were John Millington and Ann Shaw. He had a half-brother and five half-sisters, named John, Mary, Ann, Jane, Elizabeth and Rachel.  He died at the age of 84 in July 1955 in Hawarden.³
