Emily was born in December 1927 in Manchester.¹

Birth Notes

Emily's father was Nathan Shaw Miller and her mother was Louisa Alice Brackenridge. Her paternal grandparents were James Bradley Miller and Emma (Emly) Aspinall Bolton. She had a brother and two sisters, named George, Muriel and Vera. She was the second youngest of the four children. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Herbert, Edward, Elsie and Dora.
