Alexander James McDowell

Alexander was born in July 1859 in Little Bolton.¹

Birth Notes

Alexander's father was William Francis McDowell and his mother was Jane Mary Westby. His maternal grandparents were Thomas Westby and Sarah Mather. He had four brothers and a sister, named Walter, William, John, Charles and Elisa. He was the oldest of the six known children. He had a half-sister named Eliza. He died as a war casualty, Died from wounds, at the age of 56 on August 12th, 1915 in France.
