Birth Notes

William's father was William Mather and his mother was Betsy Kay. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Margaret Tyldsley. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Edward, James, Sarah, Alice, Ann, Elizabeth and Hannah. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.
