William Mather

William was born in June 1819 in Worsley and his baptism took place on July 18th, 1819 at Peel Chapel.¹²

William's father was Robert Mather and his mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Hardman. His paternal grandparents were Ellis (Elias) Mather and Alice Eccles. He had three brothers and a sister, named Hugh, Henry, Joseph and Ann. He was the second oldest of the five children.
