Titus was born in 1807 in Billinge and his baptism took place on April 26th, 1807 at St. Aidan (Billinge).1  Titus' father was Richard Mather and his mother was Betty Berry.  His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Elin (Ellen) Shaw. He had three sisters named Betty, Hannah and Margaret.  He was the second oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 33 in June 1840 in Liverpool.2
