Betty was born in 1792 in Billinge and her baptism took place on November 25th, 1792 at St. Aidan (Billinge).1  Betty's father was Richard Mather and her mother was Betty Berry.  Her paternal grandparents were John Mather and Elin (Ellen) Shaw. She had a brother and two sisters, named Titus, Hannah and Margaret.  She was the oldest of the four children.  She died at the age of 13 in November 1805 in Billinge.  She was buried on November 12th, 1805 at St. Aidan (Billinge).2
