Susannah was born on March 12th, 1829 in Edgworth and her baptism took place on March 16th, 1829 at Edgworth Independent.1 2  Susannah's father was Edward Mather and her mother was Ann Brambley.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Alice Entwistle. She had three brothers and three sisters, named James, George, Charles, Alice, Susannah and Nancy. She had an adopted sister named Mally.  She died at the age of 83 in March 1912 in Turton.  She was buried on March 7th, 1881 at Tonge-with-Haulgh Cemetery.3
