Septimus was born on November 19th, 1806 in Edensor and his baptism took place there on November 28th, 1806.1  Septimus' father was William Mather and his mother was Hannah Crowder.  His paternal grandparents were Roland Mather and Ann Allison. He had six brothers named Rowland, Joseph, William, Thomas, Samuel and John.  He was the youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 11 on May 8th, 1818 in Edensor.
