Sarah Jane Mather

Sarah was born in 1868 in Ashworth.¹

Sarah's father was James Mather and her mother was Betty Walch. Her paternal grandparents were Robert Mather and Sarah Ford. She had two brothers named John and Thomas. She was the oldest of the three children. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Herbert, Rhoda, Mary and Beatrice.
