Sarah Jane Mather

Sarah was born in December 1857 in Turton and her baptism took place on January 17th, 1858 at St. Anne (Turton).¹

Sarah's father was Joseph Mather and her mother was Elizabeth Ann Rostron. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Mather and Sarah Rostron. She had a brother and four sisters, named James, Ann, Alice, Ellen and Edna. She was the oldest of the six children.
