Helen (Ellen) Mather

Helen, known as Ellen, was born in September 1870 in Turton and her baptism took place on September 4th, 1870 at Christ Church, Walmsley.¹

Ellen's father was Joseph Mather and her mother was Elizabeth Ann Rostron. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Mather and Sarah Rostron. She had a brother and four sisters, named James, Sarah, Ann, Alice and Edna. She was the fourth oldest of the six children.
