24 Apr 1840, Robert Mather son of Thomas Mather a Printer married Ellen Crost at Blackburn St Mary. Both from Over Darwen.
In June 1841, Robert and Ellen Mather (both 20) were at Black Horse Street, Blackrod with daughter Jane (1wk).
The family must have moved to Turton, as Jane died after 7 months and was buried Jan 1842 at Christ Church Walmsley. They then moved again to Salford whee the remainder of the childrens births were registered.
In 1861, Robert and Ellen Mather (48 & 42) were with Jane (19), Thomas (17), Hannah (15) and Mary Ann (13)
